A shock exchange in Kookai store leaves Aussie Mum wanting to cry.
An Australian mum has been, in her own words, "humbled", after visiting a Kookai store after shopping for a pair of high waisted pants.
In a TikTok post which has now gone viral, Yassie Marie explains:
“They didn’t fit, and I came out of the change rooms and there were two girls standing at the counter,” she said, explaining one staff member walked out of the store and another tried to walk past her.
“I said, ‘hi, sorry, do you have this in a bigger size?’ She took it off me and checked the tag, and said she didn’t.”
Yasmin asked if another store had her size and the staff member said “no we don’t stock plus size items”.
In Australia, the average size for women is 14 to 16".
We spoke with Yasmin earlier today, who said the following:
"I'd also like to emphasize a crucial point that previous articles failed to address.
When speaking to a representative from Kookai, they stated that the brand offers sizes ranging from 4 to 14. However, it's essential to note that this size range is available for only a very limited selection of products. The majority of their items are exclusively offered in sizes 6 to 12, with the measurements of their size 12 aligning more closely with a standard size 10".
The original TikTok post currently has almost 1 million views and over 1700 comments, many from women echoing Yasmin's sentiments that Kookai is, indeed, not size inclusive & has "rude staff".
We reached out to Kookai but are yet to receive a response.
