She tells you the best things to do in Melbourne

For those of you that follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I make it no secret just how much I love my home city, Melbourne.

Whether you’re visiting Melbourne for the first time or just wanting to get to know your home town better, there’s always something new to discover in this city of culture. There is ALWAYS something going on in this city.

Melbourne is known for its amazing attractions, architecture and nature, but how can you make your trip something really special?

Have a look at some of these unique experiences that will have you wanting more of this in incredible city.

Buckle up for a helicopter flight over the city

For a completely different perspective on Melbourne, treat yourself to a 20-minute scenic flight by helicopter over all the city sights. From Docklands to Eureka Tower, the MCG and Rod Laver Arena, see it all as you never have before from the comfort of an expertly guided helicopter, leaving from Essendon Heliport.

Treat yourself to Melbourne’s best culinary experience

One of my favourite things about Melbourne? THE FOOD!

Check out the best CBD Restaurant, George on Collins where you’ll find peaceful ambiance, delicious sharinfood, and all a stone’s throw from the Regent Theatre and the rest of the CBD. The George is also home to a lively cocktail bar and generous happy hour offers to start your night with a smile.

Some other restaurants I highly recommend are Super Normal, Kisume, Chin Chin and Spice Temple in Crown Towers.

Head to Chadstone or Bourke Street Mall for a shopping experience like no other

Being the fashion capital of Australia, no  trip to Melbourne would be complete without a shopping expedition! Both Chadstone and Bourke Street Mall cater to all budget ranges and have stunning architecture for those just wanting to wander. These are my two go-to places when my wardrobe needs filling and my credit card needs damaging.

Go to the Edge with the Skydeck experience

As Melbourne’s highest vantage point (and in fact the highest viewing platform in the Southern Hemisphere), the Skydeck is well known as a popular attraction for viewing the city. Located at the top of the Eureka tower, visitors will be propelled to the 88th floor in under 40 seconds!

Take your experience to the next level with the ‘Edge Experience’; you’ll stand in a glass cube which slides out from the building, with you in it, giving you an unforgettable perspective on Melbourne.

Relax on a trip to Philip Island

If you prefer to keep your travel experiences a little closer to the ground, a day trip to Philip Island is the perfect way to get your wildlife fix and a whole lot more. You can get close to penguins, seals, koalas and more, as well as the ruggedly beautiful scenery that makes this island one of Australia’s top destinations to visit. My favourite part of Phillip Island is feeding the Kangaroos at the Wildlife Park.

This is my favourite photo of my trip to Phillip Island. How lucky to be so close to a Mother feeding her Joey! You can see more photos from my trip here.
