We all experience stress in our lives. It comes from every direction. Pressures come from family, relationships, running a home, and budgeting money. And if you’re running a small business? Well, that’s something else to add to the list!
I speak from experience when I say that running your own business is TOUGH. All the day-to-day responsibilities fall solely on your shoulders which have sometimes left me feeling like a nervous wreck.
With time and some strategies in place, it’s possible to reduce stress both at home and in your business.
Let’s focus on how to shift that weight in your business….
Take a break
Easy to say, I know. How can you take a break when you have mouths to feed, bills to pay, and customers to please? Good question, but your health needs to considered as well!
If you’re feeling stressed and burnt out, you aren’t going to be productive!
Provided you find ways to budget; you should be able to give yourself some downtime without your business going under.
Outsource where you can
If you don’t have any staff members working for you, then perhaps it’s time you started hiring. You could even consider hiring someone on a casual basis if you don’t have the budget for full-time employees.
Consider hiring someone to take care of a particular part of the business that you find more difficult or time consuming. Perhaps you could use a recruitment agency for your payroll jobs!
There are so many benefits of outsourcing. Why get bogged down in tasks that you aren’t very good at when others can make a better job of it than you.

Don’t isolate yourself
Spending all day alone in your home office can be a lonely experience. Believe me, I know. So should take steps to beat isolation. Think about dedicating some time each day to getting out of the house. I often enjoy spending a day working from a cafe with a friend.
Make use of technology
There really is an app for everything! Using apps, you can automate SO MANY of your daily tasks. You can manage your accounts, send out invoices and even manage your social media marketing. You can do almost anything. Here’s a list of the best business apps of 2018, according to the linked website anyway!
Exercise more
Have you ever needed an incentive to exercise more? Well, here it is! Physical activity is a proven way to reduce stress, and it will clear your head to enable you to function better at work. If you’re anything like me, exercise can be more of a chore than a fun activity. But there are fun ways to exercise! I find doing a class with a friend is a great way of making exercising more enjoyable. Scheduling a class with someone else also keeps you accountable to actually turn up!
