Are you an expert at shopping online?
Do you know where to find all the best product at the best prices?
Do you want to be paid for sharing your tips and tricks?!
Look no further than the newest online shopping platform on the block, Shopshare.tv
Founded by the incredible Emma Inteman, I sat down with her to get the low down on how she has turned her passion into reality.
1. For those who haven’t heard of Shopshare.tv, can you give us a quick run down on the platform?
It is video shopping with a world of experts!
Online shopping is great, but it can be overwhelming. Which product is best? Where is the best deal?
How do you work out the sizing? What are the traps to be aware of? There are no shop assistants to help you and no one to point you in the right direction. The reality is, there are a world of expert online shoppers out there, from stylists and bloggers to personal shoppers and the shopping obsessed. Now you can literally watch them shop online, screen and all!
We have created a new platform that enables content creators to easily make ‘shoppable’ videos and give guided online shopping experiences, which they can share with their followers and earn revenue from sales generated. Shopping experts can use ShopShare to create fun, unique and interactive content and earn money every time someone buys a product from their video. It has never been so easy and quick to create shoppable videos! Anyone can watch the videos, follow their favourite creators and learn about new products, shops and even get styling advice. ShopShare is a community of people that know how to shop!
2. What inspired you to create Shopshare.tv
I buy all my clothes and shoes online, so I know what I like. Finding fun and unique fashion items is a passion of mine. However the majority of my friends and family would express frustrations and describe challenges as there were no store associates or shopping assistants to help them. My husband actually came up with the idea after watching me help, guide and reassure them. He thought many others could benefit if you could actually watch experts shop online, similar to how people watch gamers on twitch, or unboxing videos on youtube. The best part is that these videos are ‘shoppable’, so that as you watch them you can purchase instantly. He got to work doing what he loves, I got to work doing what I love, and the next thing you know ShopShare was born!
3. So what’s your career background?
My background is in sales and marketing. I have been able to work in places as diverse as Dubai’s leading hotels and golf resorts, Australia’s leading architecture and interior design publisher, and some of the World’s most sought after fabric houses. With all of the companies and products that I have represented, the common theme is design, architecture, luxury and quality and I was always able to draw on my genuine passion for the products I was selling or promoting to be successful.
4. What are some of your favourite online shopping destinations? What can we expect from your channel on Shopshare.tv?
Shopbop was one of the first international online shopping sites I discovered over 10 years ago and it is still one of my favourites, I really adore their sale section. It is always full of great items at up to 70% off. I also buy a lot from Matches Fashion and Farfetch. I know the brands I love and I always try to hunt them down on sale, so I am always trying to find a designer bargain!
5. What are some of the hurdles you’ve faced running a tech-start-up? What’s the best piece of advice you could give to a woman wanting to follow in your footsteps?
Coming up with the idea is by far the easiest part! The follow through to development and execution is a grind and it takes time and perseverance. I am really lucky that my husband is my business partner. He is the software designer and I am the tester, marketer and promoter…so we are a complimentary team. I always tell myself that it only takes ONE…one opportunity, one person, one moment that can change everything and make you that much closer to fulfilling the dream.
