Getting glasses for the first time? Here are 4 things you should think about when picking your first pair.
Comfort
One of the most important things of all here is that the eyeglasses in particular are light and comfortable. If they're not comfortable, you're not going to find yourself wearing them for very long. Of course, the only way to test out the comfortability of a pair of glasses is to try them on and see how they feel. You might have to try them for a while to really get a good sense, but that’s okay - many suppliers are happy to offer a limited period during which you can return them if necessary.
Style
Let’s be real: you're not going to be happy with any eyeglasses unless you're happy with the style. You might be concerned that the styles on display can often be a little less than perfect, or it might take a while to find a style that you feel matches yours.
When you're happy with the style of glasses, you'll wear them more often and with more confidence.
Price
Very few people will be able to choose their glasses without having to think about the price tag. Whether or not it's a huge issue for you, you do nonetheless need to ensure that you are getting a fair price for your first pair of glasses. There are numerous things to consider here, including whether the glasses have the qualities mentioned elsewhere in this article, whether they are a designer pair or not, and whether they have any other features such as vari-focal lenses and so on.
Brand
Are you going for something well-known, perhaps a designer brand that you can show off? Or are you more keen on simply having a pair that works perfectly well, but which is maybe less showy? There's no right or wrong answer here, it’s entirely up to you.
